mud.art.e-Multidisciplinary Art Experience is a festival dedicated to the production and promotion of collaborative works and to the integration of different artistic languages — creative music, electronic music, performance art, live painting, projection mapping, and contemporary dance, among others. Each edition brings together original works created through the encounter of artists from different languages, preexisting works selected by the festival’s curatorial team, DJ sets, and “Live P.A.” performances (electronic music performed live).
Conceived in December 2023, the festival held a pilot edition (mud.art.e #0) on 22 December 2023 at Atelier In Fiamme, in São Paulo, within the framework of ICR #24, with support from KODA (DK) and JazzDanmark (DK). The numbered series began in January 2024 and has held six editions in São Paulo, featuring more than 50 artists from Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Slovenia, France, Italy, and Uganda.
Each edition takes shape as a singular event in which artists of note in their scenes present preexisting works and collaborate in first-time performances commissioned for the festival.
The program interweaves performances of creative music, experimental electronic music, contemporary dance, visual arts, and performance art with sets by carefully selected DJs, composing an event of the highest artistic level and of broad appeal to varied audiences — from devotees of electronic music parties and underground culture to lovers of contemporary and experimental art in its many disciplines and languages.
