
GRF Cultural was founded in February 2020 by the musician and producer Rodrigo Girafa. The company is dedicated to the creation, production, and promotion of artistic projects and events, with an emphasis on creative, contemporary, and improvised music, on interdisciplinary works of a contemporary and/or experimental character, and on multidisciplinary events, as well as on sociocultural and artistic education projects.

PROJECTS
Symbiophilia
International artistic creation project investigating the relationships between human beings, nature, and machine. Two of its three phases have already taken place, in Rio de Janeiro and Berlin. Ideated by Rodrigo Girafa, with executive production by GRF Cultural and coproduction by Bryan Holmes and Camila Nebbia, it is carried out with the support of the Goethe-Institut, through the International Coproduction Fund (IKF), in partnership with UNIRIO.
Ex Tempo
Series of contemporary, indeterminate, and improvised music, in which each event is directed by a guest artist or group. Thirteen events have been held since 2024, in Rio de Janeiro and Berlin. The first three editions, held within the framework of ICR #26, were supported by the Lithuanian Council for Culture (LT); the 12th, within the framework of the Symbiophilia project, by the Goethe-Institut.
Free At Last
Program dedicated to the promotion of free improvisation and creative music. Created in 2024, it has already produced 31 editions in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, featuring 52 artists from Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Denmark, France, Italy, Lithuania, and Russia. Editions #9 to #12, held within the framework of ICR #26, were supported by the Lithuanian Council for Culture (LT).
mud.art.e
Multidisciplinary festival integrating creative and electronic music, performance art, live painting, projection mapping, and contemporary dance. Six editions since 2024, in addition to a pilot edition held in December 2023 with support from KODA (DK) and JazzDanmark (DK). The festival has presented performances by more than 50 artists from Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Slovenia, France, Italy, and Uganda.
I.A.RES
Program of interdisciplinary residencies bringing local and international artists together around an original work, presented publicly at the end of the residency. Two editions in 2025; the second was supported by the Centro Cultural Municipal Parque Glória Maria (Parque das Ruínas).

ICR-International Creative Residences
International artistic residency program created in 2018 by the Associazione Culturale Springtime Jazz Festival (IT), with 26 editions in several countries. GRF Cultural served as executive producer of editions #21 (Barcelona and Amsterdam), #24, and #26 (Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo), co-produced with the Associazione.
SJF – Springtime Jazz Festival
International itinerant contemporary jazz festival, created by the Associazione Culturale Springtime Jazz Festival (IT). GRF Cultural produced the Brazilian legs of two editions: 2024, with three events in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, and 2025, with two events in Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte.
